Intercounty Teams

Welcome to the 2026 Intercounty Tennis League season at Gwendolen Park Tennis Club! We are coming off an exciting 2025 season where our members truly enjoyed competitive tennis. A special highlight was our +55 Team, whose impressive performance earned them a spot in the playoffs held at Sobeys Stadium. Building on last year’s momentum, we look forward to another thrilling season of Intercounty tennis starting from May 12, 2026.

We will field the following teams in the Intercounty League:

  • Mixed A on Thursday evenings
  • Mixed B on Tuesday evenings
  • Mixed C on Thursday evenings
  • +55 Mixed on Thursday mornings

Tryouts for Intercounty Teams will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with rain day May 3, 2026, same times. Only new members or those who were not on Intercounty Team roster last year are requested to participate in the tryouts. We may invite some members from last year's team roster to participate in tryouts, although, in general, they are not required to participate in the tryouts because we are familiar with their skill level.

House League

GPTC's House League is our most popular program. It's a way meet other club members while playing some friendly doubles, matched up with players at the same level. Your captain will schedule you for a 1-hour match on Mondays and/or Wednesdays between 7-11pm.

Players are arranged into 6 cohort groups, based on their level of play, Women's A, B+ and B; and Men's A, B+ and B. We play, weather permitting, from mid-May to mid-October.

Each Cohort has a Captain that will email cohort members inviting you to play one or both days. Your captain will set up doubles matches using Court Reserve to communicate and schedule. The four players on each court can sort out partners. If it becomes clear one pair has much stronger players then the other, we encourage you to stop and switch it up for a more balanced match - good competion is an objective, but having fun is the ultimate goal.

All members will get an email inviting them to sign up for House League in early spring.
